Mangatangi Historical Group’s new website preserving North East Waikato’s heritage
Established in 2012, the Mangatangi Historical Group has taken on the responsibility of preserving the rich heritage of North East Waikato. With a selective set of written histories documenting local people, events, and locations, the group is the cultural backbone of communities like Mangatangi, Mangatawhiri, Maramarua, and Miranda.
The group required a modern, interactive web presence that would do justice to its treasure trove of historical records. The primary challenges were making extensive archival material accessible, providing easy navigation, and adding a contemporary design.
Digital Pie planned to create a simple-to-use website that, though it delivered written histories, would facilitate community interaction. Our strategy was based on a strong website development and design foundation, complemented by tailored copywriting. We also addressed the technical aspects—hosting, domain registration, and a new logo design—to establish a cohesive brand presence.
